PROFILE
Founder Richard Merriman comes from a long-line of educationalists. He was educated at Loughborough Grammar School before reading Education and Sports Science at Loughborough University.
His Masters in English Local History was achieved from the Hoskins School at Leicester University. After four years in a bi-lateral school in Canterbury, Richard transferred to the Independent Schools sector teaching within the Public Schools of Clayesmore and Kimbolton for 12 years. Richard’s first Headship in 1997 was at the proprietorial Wolborough Hill Prep School in Devon, before taking on the stand-alone Preparatory School, Birchfield in the West Midlands and finishing his career at the outstanding, Foremarke Hall, Repton’s Preparatory School.
During his time in these IAPS schools Richard served as Chairman of the Midland's Preparatory Schools, on the IAPS Council as a Director and finally as a member of their Strategy Committee. He is an ISI Inspector. Whist at Foremarke Richard became involved pivotally in the creation of Foremarke Dubai, where he remains a Governor and has played a significant role in helping to establish and create partnerships with schools and investors in the UAE, India, China, Singapore, Jordan, Bulgaria, Egypt and Russia.
Richard has also worked extensively with various International Agencies particularly in Russia, Japan and Spain both for parents but also with a pioneering and innovative project in Moscow.
